Melvin Young M.D.

Dr. Young is a magna cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Rutgers University in 1969. He then graduated from Harvard Medical School in 1973 and did all of his post-graduate training at the Harvard Medical School Affiliated Hospitals including Children's Hospital, Peter Bent Brigham, Robert Breck Brigham, Beth Israel, and completed the Massachusetts General Hospital Tract of the Harvard Orthopedic Residency Program.

Dr. Young was chief resident in Orthopedics as well as a Teaching Fellow in Orthopedics at Harvard Medical School. Following that, he completed an additional fellowship under Dr. Clement Sledge, Chief Orthopedic Surgeon at the Peter Bent Brigham and Robert Breck Brigham Hospitals in the field of Total Joint Replacement Surgery of the Hip and Knee.

In 1979, Dr. Young relocated to Boca Raton to begin his private practice.
He became Board Certified in Orthopedics in 1980 and has been elected a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgery and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He was Chief of Staff at Pompano Beach Medical Center, Chairman of the Quality Assurance and Improvement Committee and a member of the Board of Trustees at that hospital. He currently operates at Boca Raton Community Hospital.

Dr. Young has performed just under 1000 Total Joint Replacement surgeries of the Hip and Knee and is proud of his personalized care and his outstanding record of happy patients with excellent surgical results.
